Following on from the Carburettor Fed 365 GT4 BB and the BB 512, the BBi 512 was the last in the Berlinetta Boxer series before being replaced in 1984 with the Testarossa

This last incarnation was a rare car in the UK, with only 42 UK, Right Hand Drive Cars produced, and just 48 Right Hand Drive Worldwide, from a total factory production of 1,007 units.

Introduced in 1981, the BBi 512 replaced the physically at least, almost identical BB 512, carburettors were replaced with the Bosch K-Jetronic CIS fuel injection system, the new system produced cleaner emissions and offered a better balance of performance and daily-driver temperament.

There were very few external differentiators from the carburettored BB 512 besides the badging, but the eagle eyed with spot the slightly different wheels which were metric and designed to take Michelin TRX metric tyre, along with small white running lights in the nose, and red rear fog lamps outboard of the exhaust pipes in the rear valance.

Supplied new to South Africa through the Johannesburg dealer T.A.K Motor Company on 13th January 1983, the beautiful 512 BBi is presented in its original specification of:

The car resided in the dry climate of South Africa until it was imported into the UK in 2008 which has no doubt been a large contributing factor in this vehicles spectacular condition.

It was looked after the supplying dealer in its early years and indeed was sold by them again in 1996

Its specification is identical to that of a UK Supplied car with the exception of the speedometer calibrated in Kilometres which still remains fitted to the vehicle.

Service History

Presented with its original wallet, handbooks, original service book and tool kit. 

The history file contains confomation of life long care with invoices and other related paperwork confirming extensive care and maintenance over the years as outlined below.

Since arriving in the UK, it has been treated to a repaint and retrim back to its original, as new, specification.
